Emerging Artists of the 21st Century
Pinellas County High School Exhibit
Each school year students from Pinellas County High Schools submit work for the Scholastic Awards Program, which is a nationwide program that instills and acknowledges students who have surpassed their peers with their artistic talents. With the help of Jonathan Ogle, the PreK-12 Visual Arts Supervisor of Pinellas County Schools and this year’s judge, Amanda Cooper, hundreds of works submitted by teachers and students for consideration are viewed. Teachers throughout the county are encouraged to have their students submit work for judging. Since some works will be considered for the nationwide program, these works are not for sale.
Each student whose work is juried in receives a participation certificate. Additionally, there are six students whose work receives an Award of Excellence and a monetary donation from the Sonya & Irwin Miller Scholarship Fund.
Art Festival Beth-El has been honoring these students, and all those that came before, for the past 40 years. We are pleased that the Miller’s Scholarship Fund will continue to support these young and talented artists.
