Cool Pool Girl
Cool Pool Girl is a textile mosaic. Sassy and free spirited the bold colors are an extension of the intention of the art. This art will make you feel your happiest; the woman embodies that aspect of us which is a bit rebellious with a bent for fun.
Beginning with a charcoal sketch I create my images using layers and layers of fabric. I call the process “textile mosaic”. To have the mosaic effect every small piece of cloth sits next to another piece. I use a multi-step archival adhesive applied with a brush. Every piece of cloth is added one at a time. All the fabric is hand cut. The cloth I use is cotton and silk, only natural fibers. Using vintage, recycled and hand dyed fabrics I utilize a variety of pattern size and colors to create light, pattern, depth and texture.
