Really Love Your Peaches (Peaches)
Really Love Your Peaches: Sensual in so many ways, the art encourages your imagination to run a bit wild. Forbidden fruit or a walk through the orchard, this subtle image invites the viewer into a moment of pleasure and satisfaction.
Beginning with a charcoal sketch I create my images using layers and layers of fabric. I call the process “textile mosaic”. To have the mosaic effect every small piece of cloth sits next to another piece. I use a multi-step archival adhesive applied with a brush. Every piece of cloth is added one at a time. All the fabric is hand cut. The cloth I use is cotton and silk, only natural fibers. Using vintage, recycled and hand dyed fabrics I utilize a variety of pattern size and colors to create light, pattern, depth and texture.
